Verified ownerWish the matching shim was larger, to match the swim ladder bracket in size, still works. Instructions should recommend to install the transducer bracket on the plate FIRST; The clearance doesn’t allow workable access to the holes, once the plate is secured.

Verified ownerThese rod holders are perfect for what they are with a good design. However I saltwater fish with 400$ worth of rods in them .there was a few spots I wish there was more weld . I had to add longer bolts for plastic to add washer n lock washer and loctite to make sure nothing comes apart along with adding some washers n lock washers for the rod holders as well . Like I said I over kill 400$ worth of fish poles . Had a nice powder coat on it but after a 2 hour trip in ocean there was rust , no biggie to be expected I just sprayed some rust stop where I thought I needed it . I also added a piece of rope to the my poles so they don’t fall out and a piece to the steering cleat in case something let go I would still have everything. Overall I’m satisfied with the pole holder , it will definitely make trolling and fishing much easier for myself. We’ll worth it !!!

As for the rust issue after saltwater exposure, we appreciate you pointing that out. We have tightened up our QA Control on the Powder Coating due to this unfortunate issue. We will also consider using materials with higher corrosion resistance in the future. We’re glad you found a solution for it.
Your safety precautions using ropes and other attachments sound very smart, and we’ll look into how we might be able to incorporate such features or provide recommendations in our products moving forward.
