Why the Shim Kit Matters
Yamaha jet ski hulls have a built-in deadrise angle at the stern. If you mount a transducer without correcting for this angle, the sonar cone points slightly forward instead of straight down — causing inaccurate depth readings and missed fish targets.
The Orcapak transducer plate includes a precision-machined shim that compensates for the hull angle, keeping the transducer face perfectly parallel to the water surface for accurate readings from idle speed to full throttle.
